Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt or sour cream
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 6 ounce white chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.

2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. 3. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar, melted butter, yogurt, buttermilk, egg whites, vanilla, and almond extract.

4. 4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

5. 5. Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full and bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.

6. 6. For the frosting, beat the softened butter in a large bowl until creamy. Add the melted white chocolate, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Beat until the frosting is smooth and creamy.

7. 7. Frost the cooled cupcakes and optionally decorate with sugar pearls or edible sprinkles.

Notes

Measure Ingredients Accurately: Precise measurements are key to achieving the perfect texture and flavor.

Use Room Temperature Ingredients: Bringing all the ingredients to room temperature before mixing will help them blend together seamlessly.

Avoid Overmixing: Be gentle when combining the wet and dry ingredients to prevent a tough or dense crumb.

Bake with Care: Keep a close eye on the cupcakes during baking to achieve the perfect dome shape.

Cool Completely Before Frosting: Letting the cupcakes cool fully will prevent the frosting from melting or becoming soggy.

Smooth and Creamy Frosting: Beating the butter until light and fluffy, and gradually adding the powdered sugar, will result in a silky-smooth frosting.
