Instructions

1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Cream Butter & Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

4. Add Eggs & Flavorings: Beat in the egg, egg yolk, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and vinegar until fully combined.

5. Combine Wet & Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.

6. Bake: Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is slightly soft. Let cool completely in the pan.

7. Make Frosting: In a medium bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and salt gradually. Add cream as needed to reach the desired spreading consistency.
