Mozzarella Cheese Steak Stromboli 30 Minutes Easy Delicious

Mozzarella Cheese Steak Stromboli is a delectable Italian-inspired dish that combines the best of both worlds – the rich, meaty flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak and the irresistible, cheesy goodness of a stromboli. This handheld masterpiece is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, a game day gathering, or anytime you crave a satisfying and comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound store-bought pizza dough
  • 1/4 cup flour for dusting
  • 1 pound ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak, onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Season with Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Sauté until the steak is cooked through and the vegetables are tender, about 5–7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle.

4. Spread the steak and vegetable mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top.

5. Carefully roll the dough tightly into a log, sealing the edges and ends. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down.

6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush this mixture over the top of the stromboli.

7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.

8. Let cool for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

When choosing steak, opt for ribeye or sirloin for tenderness and flavor. Slice thinly for even cooking.

Experiment with vegetables like mushrooms or spinach for variations.

Mozzarella is classic, but consider using provolone or a blend of cheeses for added flavor.

Ensure proper rolling and sealing of dough to prevent leaks during baking.
