Instructions

1. Prepare the sausage gravy by cooking the sausage until browned. Stir in flour, then gradually whisk in milk and seasonings. Cook until thickened and cool slightly.

2. Scramble the eggs in a skillet until just set and cool slightly.

3. Make the pastry dough by combining flour and salt, cutting in shortening and butter. Mix wet ingredients and combine with dry ingredients to form a dough. Chill for 30 minutes.

4. Roll out the dough, cut into shapes, fill with sausage gravy and scrambled eggs, seal edges, and brush with egg wash.

5. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
