Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounce whole button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for 3–5 minutes.

2. 2. In a large bowl, toss the mushrooms with the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herbs, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until the mushrooms are evenly coated.

3. 3. Place the seasoned mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10–12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.

4. 4. Remove the air fryer mushrooms from the air fryer, sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

Choose the Right Mushrooms: While button and cremini mushrooms are the stars of this recipe, you can also experiment with other varieties, such as portobello, shiitake, or oyster mushrooms. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly.

Avoid Overcrowding: It’s important to arrange the mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Overcrowding can lead to steaming rather than crisping.

Adjust Seasoning to Taste: Feel free to adjust the amount of spices and herbs to suit your personal flavor preferences. You can add a little more or less of any seasoning to achieve your desired taste profile.

Store and Reheat Leftovers: If you have any air fryer mushrooms leftover, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, simply place them back in the air fryer for a few minutes until heated through and crispy.
